This instrument is very similar to the last harp guitar John
Sullivan made in 2006. One main difference was that Sullivan
used African Blackwood back and sides.
This instrument has 21-strings, 7 basses, 6 guitar and 8 super
trebles, giving this instrument 5 full octaves. This harp guitar is
based on John Doan's original 20-string harp guitar that was
designed by Jeffrey Elliott and John Sullivan (2007d). Sullivan built
John's instrument in 1986.The tuning depends on the musician but
as standard from low to high it has a range of five octaves...

"You have really proven what it takes to stay
with your craft. This instrument is the best yet
and is up there with the finest harp guitars I
have ever played." - John Doan
A wonderful customer called Joseph Conklin wrote a tune called
'Sedgwick' on this harp guitar. He also released an album called
‘With Friends Like These’ which has a number of harp guitar tracks
on it.
